A. M. Gun boat "Janus,"
at Hong Kong, 5th February, 1867.

I have the honor to report that in compliance with your order of yesterday, I left this port having on board the Master of the junk "Karn Chong-heng", who then stated that we should find the Pirate who attacked him either at Cheng-Chow or Cheng-chow on Funee or Lautes Island. As it was very dark, I anchored to the Eastward of Commorna J. Jones, 4.M.S. "Princess Charlotte."
